Sunday, February 23, 2025—Worship—11:00 a.m. there will be a Congregational Meeting following worship to elect our Elders for the Class of 2027. Full Members are allowed to vote . Please join us for coffee and cookies following worship and the meeting.
The Session will meet on Tuesday, February 25, at 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
The Craft Group welcomes all who want to work on a craft or just share in fellowship to join in on Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m., in the fellowship hall.
We need help with the Lenten mailing next Thursday, February 27, 1-3 p.m. in the fellowship hall. If you can help, please contact Pastor Kathy: 828-260-2512. Thanks!
Our winter Bible study continues this Wednesday, February 26, 3-4:30 p.m. Hearth & Home led by Daniel Coffey is a devotional journey centered on Bible stories chosen by the participants. These sacred stories will be enhanced with art, music, and poetry. This wonderful winter study lets us dive into sacred stories and our own stories as well. All are invited to attend.
January and February have been lean months for giving to our church’s general fund due to snow, ice, and below zero temperatures that caused us to cancel 2 worship services in January. Our expenses have also increased because of the extra fuel oil needed to keep our rock sanctuary at 50 degrees. If you are able, prayerfully consider giving a little extra to the general fund. Our hurricane recovery fund and our mission fund are healthy at this time due of our church family’s generosity and Covenant Presbyterian Church’s continuing donations to cover 50% of our hurricane recovery projects.
What a joy it was to have the Lees-McRae Highlanders join us in worship with their gift of music last Sunday. They stayed and enjoyed our delicious potluck luncheon. A Big Thank You to our congregational fellowship committee and volunteers along with all the folks who shared their homemade soups, chili, and desserts! A wonderful time of good food and fellowship.
